I’m participating in #Inktober again this year! Not sure if I’ll be going the full month, but I plan to try it as of right now. (In case you don’t know, Inktober is where you make a new ink drawing/painting every day for the month of October)
I’ve attempted this challenge for the last two years now. 2016 embarrassingly ended up with a spotty 4 illustrations I won’t even show here, but last year went much better. In 2017, I managed 28 out of 31 days. I didn’t follow a particular prompt list, but I focused on one theme I struggled with every week.
Here are some of my favorites from last year:
2017 Improvement Prompts:
- Hands
- Scenery
- Animals
- Flowers
This year, I just want to have a fall/spooky/Halloween theme run through each piece. Each one predominantly black and white, with one colored point of focus. I always end up changing my mind, though, so we’ll see~
Materials:
- Bee Watercolor Paper
- Speedball Super Black Ink
- Dr. Ph. Martin’s Black Star Matte Black Ink
- Winsor & Newton Colored Inks
- Pentel Brush Pen
- Dr. Ph. Martin’s Pen White & Iridescent Inks
- Various paint brushes
- Pen with Various nibs
I’ll make a post later which nibs and brushes I use the most. I’ll probably edit that into this post as well, in case you see this later.
Thanks for reading!
